5U Rally Cap/Blast Ball
(Born 2021-2022)
8 Weeks - Late April through June
Choice of Monday or Friday evenings.
Welcome to the 5U (Rally Cap/Blast Ball) Division. This will most likely be your son or daughter’s first experience in baseball. The Rally Cap Program was developed by Baseball Canada to ensure that this first baseball experience is a positive one for all young players involved.
The four main goals of the 5U program are to:
- Create an environment in which children and adults can have fun and get an introduction to the game of baseball.
- Introduce the fundamental baseball skills in a fun and energetic environment.
- Model and teach competitiveness with an emphasis on good sportsmanship.
- Promote increased self-esteem and excitement about the game of baseball among all participants
There will be a one hour session each week. Each session will combine both a practice component and a fun blast ball game. The emphasis in both will be on the 5 FUNdamentals:
- Throwing
- Base Running
- Fielding
- Hitting
- General Knowledge
Your child will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at Jamboree weekend to wrap up the season in June.
Equipment: No equipment in required for this age group. A glove is recommended but not necessary. Games will be played with foam bats and balls supplied by the league. Team shirts & hats will be provided as well.
If you haven’t already, be sure and sign up for this awesome introduction to baseball!
The 5U age group encourages parent and family participation! Kids will be grouped into teams with a volunteer coach who will be more than happy to have as much help on the field as possible!
